Essentials for Traveling

February 11, 2019

Looking forward to that summer vacation?  Many are as the winter slowly trudges forward.  Now is always a good time to start the necessary planning for your trip, no matter if you are off to the beach or overseas.  Knowing what to have ahead of time is always a wise decision.  We here at Zohmo are always excited to go off on vacation, and we have prepared a list of what you need.  By all means, take plenty of pictures and videos with your iPhone, and remember to have your charging case handy if it is not on the phone.  You never know where you will be and may not have access to charge your phone.

You have a few different options when it comes to deciding on what luggage you will need.  Today’s soft side rolling cases are certainly a step up from the older model hard sided ones, but no matter how you go, be sure your luggage can roll.  It will save you time and energy when moving from plane to plane, car to hotel and the like.

Plan for everything.  You will certainly want something comfortable, plenty of socks and underwear as well as something dressy.  Have some pjs even if you do not wear them regularly.  You do not want to be in a compromising position in case of a fire or emergency at 3 a.m.  Bring a light jacket even if you are not warm natured or traveling to warmer location.  Cool nights can happen even at the beach.

There is quite a bit that needs to go into this bag.  Toothbrush, toothpaste and floss are to start.  Deodorant, shampoo/conditioner if you are not into what is at the hotel; sunscreen; face wash; makeup removal; personal hygiene; ladies hygiene; contact lenses; glasses and all prescription medications in the original container.  Combs and brushes.

There will always be something out of the ordinary you may need.  Plan on it.  Have a small first aid kit, sewing kit, personal cologne or perfume, as well as some standard OTC medications like aspirin.

If you are flying, you can have a small carry on bag.  In it you should have the staples you need.  Camera, extra storage, headphones, tablet or iPad, charger and your iPhone charging case with charging cord.

Firstly, do not carry a standard wallet.  Get a travel wallet or neck wallet for safety.  Keep it tucked inside of your shirt at all times unless you are making a transaction.  Have your ID, hotel and rental information, passport, health insurance information and for those with special medical needs, information on what they need.  It is a good idea to have a backup charging cable and an iPhone battery case on you as well.  You can never have too much battery when you are on vacation and taking pictures.

The charging cases available at Zohmo are sleek and rugged.  The solid exterior body will stand up against almost any rough handling, including long flights.
